The new game's publisher Good Shepherd teamed up with Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy, to bring this game to life and to share Hellboy's story in a way fans have never seen before. Though there have been rumors of a new Hellboy game since Embracer Group's Dark Horse acquisition, nothing had been announced up until this point. Hellboy Web of Wyrd has been announced with a beautiful trailer at The Game Awards 2022, which can be viewed on the Xbox YouTube channel. Throughout the years there have been a few video games based on the movies, but fans have not been able to take on the role of the character since 2008. Hellboy started as a comic book published by Dark Horse Comics and later received two different movie adaptations, the original two starring Ron Perlman and the newest one starring David Harbour.
Hellboy is getting a brand-new video game adaptation, as announced during The Game Awards.
